Thurs 19th sept. sources of the Jordan River

Another busy day
Today we looked at the 3 sources of the river Jordan.

It's amazing that these small streams and springs can lead to such a river which then flows into the Sea of Galilee, then onward through the Jordan valley, providing life for all, and finally ends up  flowing into the Dead Sea.
Went to the ancient town( Bronze Age ) of Dan and explored the archaeology of the ruins,

then went to Cesare Phillipi where Jesus ask his apostles "who do people say I am?" And peter answered correctly and Jesus said , " It's upon this rock I will build my church".

Had a yummy Lebanese dinner, then went to the source of the Jordan river, Mt Hermon, and continued onto a look out which was just below the Israeli watching and listening post, which overlooks the Syrian border.

All was quiet.

Returned to Pilgrimhaus, went for another swim in the S.O.G. showered and changed for mass on the side of the Sea of Galilee , and then roast turkey for tea.

Really slumming it......

Tomorrow we cruise around some more and then  head back to our  home in Jerusalem.
I'll be on mt tabor tomorrow (transfiguration)when the game is on, totally out of range.

Ten more days and counting
